Is there something you want to change in your life but it isn’t happening no matter what you do? Do you repeatedly respond negatively to a particular situation then beat yourself up for feeling or reacting this way? Or do you justify your behaviour by blaming others or the situation itself?
Deep within, you have limiting beliefs. Beliefs that have been with you for a long time, possibly from previous experiences, which have created negative subconscious beliefs. Have you ever looked at these beliefs and asked yourself, is it really my truth or did I learn it somewhere?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an amazing tool that cleans up the past by releasing limiting beliefs. It brings you to an understanding of the root of an issue and uncovers the false truths that keep you stuck. EFT helps you to free yourself of subconscious beliefs and move beyond what is.
I feel very passionate about EFT because it has helped me through very adverse circumstances as well as day-to-day situations. This amazing technique brings a sense of calm to my body, which helps me think more clearly and become focused. It relieves stress and helps me face my fears.
The Science of EFT:
EFT is acupuncture without needles. You tap the meridian points on your body with your fingers instead of using needles. Granted it may seem odd at first, however, the positive results speak for themselves.
When you tap on the these meridian end points, while focused on the stress, challenge or whatever you are trying to overcome, it sends a calming signal to the amygdala in the brain. Amygdala is the fight or flight response center.
When we enter into the fight or flight mode when reacting from a negative hurtful response, blood leaves our brain and we loose our ability to think properly. It sends a signal to the body that we are not safe so we react from the limiting beliefs of the subconscious mind. Often you react without even knowing it. As your body becomes calmer using EFT, you are able to look at the situation differently. As a practitioner, I help clients become more patient, compassionate and forgiving and in the process, find solutions to the situation.
Let’s use a phobia for an example: You have a phobia of snakes or spiders. Just imagining a snake or spider puts your body into a fight or flight response – the message is “I’m not safe”. Inside your subconscious mind is the belief that you need to be afraid or even terrified of a snake or spider. EFT helps release the terror living within and often uncovers the core issue of this response. Many are surprised by what is living within.
As a practitioner of EFT, I have taught 100’s of people how to use it this technique. I have worked with many individuals in private and group tapping sessions. I love to see the reaction clients have when they witness their challenge dissipating or going away completely.
Group EFT tapping is very effective. Everyone comes with an issue to work on. There are usually 8 – 10 people. We tap with one person at a time. Often, when we reach the last two people, their issues have already disappeared without even tapping on them. This is calling ‘borrowing benefits’ from the other members of the group.
Another of my absolute favorites is ‘surrogate’ tapping, whereby we tap without the person present. We tap on their behalf, with their permission. The results are truly astonishing.
Often, to start my or end my day, I will tap in a beautiful positive prayer that speaks to my Soul, bringing me closer to the Divine within.
EFT works for so many issues, from depression, pain and anger management to weight loss and increasing abundance. If you are interested in more information, or participating in a session, please contact me at [email protected] or call 250 681 0799.
