Rockets streak ends in Seattle

The Kelowna Rockets latest win streak came to an end in Seattle.

The T-Birds snapped a 2-2 tie with two goals in a span of 2:27 late in the third period to double the visiting Rockets 4-2 Saturday.

The loss snapped the Rockets five game winning streak.

The Rockets clawed their way back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game at 2-2 when Myles Bell scored with less than seven minutes left in regulation time.

A minute later, Shea Theodore restored the Thunderbirds one goal lead.

Brendan Rouse put the game away a few minutes later.

Rourke Chartier also scored for the Rockets in the final minute of the second period.

Seth Swenson and Robert Lipsbergs scored in the opening period as the Thunderbirds grabbed a 2-0 lead,

Brandon Glover faced 39 shots in the Seattle net including 18 in the third period to earn the win for Seattle.

Glover was named the game's first star.

Jackson Whistle suffered the loss, his first loss in a Rockets uniform after six straight wins.

Special teams also proved costly for the Rockets who went 0-5 with the man advantage while Seattle connected on one of their two opportunities.

The Rockets, winners of 10 straight on home ice, return home to host Swift Current Wednesday and Prince George Saturday.
