The UBC-Okanagan Heat men's volleyball team will have to wait another day for their first Canada West win of the season.

Due to the cancellation of flights caused by poor weather on the prairies, the University of Saskatchewan men’s team was unable to make it to Kelowna for Friday’s scheduled Canada West conference match.

The men’s matches are rescheduled for Saturday November 3 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday November 4 at 6:00 p.m.

Last weekend, the men dropped a pair of matches to the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack to open the season.

Meanwhile, the women’s team from the U of S did arrive in Kelowna and they will take on the Heat Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at the UBCO Gymnasium.

The women enjoyed a perfect start to their second season in Canada West as they swept their TRU opponents without dropping a set in a pair of matches. They were one of only two teams to sweep their opening weekend and are tied for first in Canada West after week 1.

Also on the court this weekend, the Heat will kick off their second season of Canada West basketball when they travel to Victoria to take on the Vikes.

The women's team went 2-5 in the preseason, including a pair of losses to the Vikes and will look to turn that around in the provincial capitol.

The men's squad finished the preseason 4-4, and will be in tough against the defending Canada West regular season champs. The Heat finished their inaugural season in Canada West last year at 3-14.
