The Grand Slam of Curling/Canadian Open is in need of dedicated, fun people who love curling and want to help out in this prestigious event.

Come and be a part of one of Canada’s most popular past times, and witness the best curlers in the world battle it out on the ice for the Grand Slams's top honours!

There are 6 main volunteer roles:

  • Ice making/maintenance
  • Transportation
  • Statistics
  • Scoring
  • Opening / Closing Ceremonies – including MC
  • In venue volunteers (include set up & tear down, program sellers, 50/50 draw, etc)

For some of the positions you may need to have some basic curling knowledge

  • Statisticians: training and computers will be provided on Tuesday December 11th for all statisticians
  • Scorekeepers: the head local official will need to have a level 2 certification or higher – training will also be provided for all scorekeepers
  • Ice Makers

For working 10 volunteer hours, you will receive a jacket from the Grand Slam of Curling and you will be provided with beverages and snacks during your working shifts.

And when you are not volunteering you will receive accreditation to watch the games if you have put in 10 volunteer hours over the week.
