It's the all-important Day 2 of the Davis Cup in Vancouver today as the teams split their singles matches yesterday.
In the first matchup, it was world number 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, defeating 21 year old Vernon native Vasek Pospisil in straight sets in front of a boisterous red and white crowd at UBC's Doug Mitchell Stadium.
Pospisil committed 36 unforced errors where he showed his nerves in front of roughly 5-thousand fans.
Tsonga says the first win is key.
The second match saw the powerhouse Milos Raonic hit 24 aces to get past 35th ranked Julian Bennetau in straight sets.
Raonic had the home crowd behind him as he evened up the Davis Cup matches at one.
Next up is doubles this afternoon when Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil battle Julian Bennetau and Michael Llodra. The winner of the match will be one win away from advancing to Davis Cup quarterfinals.
