Dean Martel knew it would come to an end sometime.
That time was Friday.
Martel and his team from Kelowna were seven time defending Canadian Vision Impaired Curling Champions.
The event had only been contested for seven years.
Martel was not able to make it eight as he and his Team Canada rink were beaten handily 11-3 by Ontario in Friday's final.
The Kelowna squad had breezed through the round robin winning all seven games by a combined 59-11.
They defeated Ontario 7-5 during round robin play.
The event is held annually in Ottawa as part of White Cane Week.
