The Kelowna Rockets continue to struggle against teams below them in the standings.
Wednesday, a poor final 40 minutes was the difference as the Rockets fell 2-0 to the lowly Seattle Thunderbirds.
It's the second time the T-Birds have come into Prospera Place and stolen a win in the last two weeks.
Seth Swenson scored what proved to be the game winner for the T-Birds 33 seconds into the third period.
Colin Jacobs added an insurance tally eight minutes later.
Both goals came with a Rocket in the penalty box.
During the post-game radio show, Rockets head coach Ryan Huska again called out his older players as not being good enough on the night.
Huska says the team played well in the first period but played poorly over the last 40 minutes.
"We take two steps forward and then seem to take one step back," says Huska who's team was trying to extend its winning streak to a season high four games.
Calvin Pickard turned aside all 32 shots he faced for his fourth shutout of the season and the 11th of his Western Hockey League career.
Jordon Cooke turned aside 28 of the 30 shots he faced.
It was the third time the Rockets have been shutout this season all on home ice.
The difference on the scoreboard was special teams where the T-Birds went 2-3 with the man advantage while the Rockets were ineffective on their five opportunities.
