Grey Cup tour hitting the Okanagan

B.C. Lions fans will get a chance to celebrate the team's improbable 2011 Grey Cup victory.

The iconic 'silver chalice' will make a stop at Kelowna's Laurel Packinghouse Tuesday, January 31 from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.

It's part of the 'Pride of BC Grey Cup Tour,' which sees the cup hitting various cities across the province over the course of a week.

The Grey Cup will be accompanied by three members of the club including wide receiver Geroy Simon, centre Angus Reid and defensive back J.R. LaRose.

The Lions won the CFL championship back in November beating Winnipeg 34-23 at BC Place.

It was one of the most improbable Grey Cup championships in recent memory.

The Lions lost their first five regular season games and were 1-6 before going on an amazing roll that saw them win 10 of their last 11 regular season games, win the Western Conference then dispatch Edmonton and Winnipeg to capture the fifth Grey Cup title in team history.

The cup will also make appearances in Vernon and Penticton the following day.
