Kelly Scott finds a new lead
Kelly Scott has found a new lead.
A month after parting ways with long-time lead Renee Simons, Scott has filled the position.
Jacquie Armstrong will fill the role for the former Canadian and World Champions, joining Scott, Sasha Carter and Jeanna Schraeder.
"Jacquie is a highly competitive curler who resides in Vancouver BC. She has been to five Provincial Scotties championships, having lost the final in 2000, 2001 and 2008," says Scott.
Armstrong attended the 2003 National Scotties as a fifth player for Team B.C.
"We are thrilled that Jacquie will be a member of our team next year. We sat down and created a list of criteria that we were looking for in our new player -- both skill set, experience and personality and Jacquie hit the mark in all the categories".
Scott says Armstrong will continue to live in the Vancouver area with her family but says the team has made its schedule and season plans which ensures they will spend ample time together both on and off the ice.
Armstrong will be a member of the team for both the 2009 Olympic Pre-Trials as well as the provincial playdowns.
