A Kelowna youth soccer team came home with bronze medals from a 180-team international tournament in Florida.
Rutland Youth Soccer Association's U-16 Extreme Girls made Canada proud at the Disney International Cup, July 11-18.
The girls finished second in the round robin, and ultimately earned bronze in the semi-finals.
They battled in 33-degree heat (44 with humidity) to beat Panama (3-1), Puerto Rico (6-0) and Florida (4-0), just falling short to California in a 2-1 loss.
The 12 local girls were joined by four pick-up players from Florida and one from North Carolina.
While there, they also visited Disneyworld, the Epcot Centre, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
