Kelowna's Kelsey Serwa returns to the site of one of her greatest triumphs this weekend.
Serwa is scheduled to compete Saturday in women's ski cross at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colo.
It was five years ago that Serwa captured gold at the X Games in Aspen. The victory is famous for her crash at the finish line.
"Last time I competed, I broke my back, smashed my face, and took home the gold. It was totally worth it, but this time I'm planning to land on my feet," Serwa posted on Instagram.
A week later, she captured the FIS world championship, literally going from the physio table to the course.
Serwa, a silver medalist at the 2014 Olympic Games, is 11th in the overall women's World Cup standings.
In four races this season, Serwa has one silver medal – that back in December in Innichen, Italy.
