Scott gets last chance at Scotties

Kelowna's Kelly Scott has one last chance to qualify for the playoff round at the BC Scotties in Maple Ridge.

Scott and her team representing the Kelowna and Maple Ridge curling clubs, failed in their bid to advance during Friday's B qualifier, falling 7-4 to Sarah Wark of Victoria.

Scott held a slim 3-2 lead at the fifth end break but it was Wark who came out firing in the second half of the game.

Wark assumed the lead with a pair in six then stole another in the seventh before sealing it with two in nine.

Scott will take on defending champion Kesa Van Osch of Nanaimo in the C qualifier Saturday morning at 11 a.m.

The winner will take one of four spots in the playoff round of the triple knockout while the loser will head home early.

Scott defeated Van Osch 5-4 in the opening draw Wednesday.

The winner of Sunday's final will represent BC at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw.
