Rocket earns player of the wk

Kelowna Rockets captain, Madison Bowey, has been named the Denny's Western Hockey League's Player of the Week.

Bowey, who recently returned from the training camp of the Washington Capitals, had two goals and six assists and was a plus seven in three games last week.

The 19-year-old Winnipeg native had two goals and three assists in a 7-5 win over Vancouver Wednesday, two assists in a 5-4 overtime win in Everett on Friday and an assist in a 6-4 win in Seattle Saturday.

Bowey has registered points in all four games he has played this season including a three assist effort in Prince George in his season debut.

He leads all defencemen in scoring in the WHL with 11 points.

Bowey and the Rockets look to improve on a perfect start to the season when they entertain the Swift Current Broncos Tuesday at Prospera Place.

The Rockets are off to their best start in franchise history with a perfect 6-0-0-0 start.

They are the only remaining unbeaten team in the league.
