Rockets, T-Birds open Thurs

The Kelowna Rockets will play the Seattle Thunderbirds in the second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs, with games one and two in Kelowna on Thursday April 3 and Saturday April 5.

Seattle advanced to the second round with a 5-0 win over Everett on Saturday night, winning their series in five games.

The Rockets moved onto the second round on Friday night, beating the Tri City Americans in five games.

The Rockets and T-Birds met four times during the regular season. Each team won once in regulation time on home ice and in a shootout on opposition ice.

The last meeting was a 7-3 Kelowna win at Prospera Place back on Feb 11.
