The Kelowna Rockets and the Kelowna Professional Fire Fighters Association want to paint Prospera Place white for the playoffs.
The association will be selling several thousand specially designed white t-shirts for the start of the Rockets playoff run Saturday.
The shirts will be available at Valley First Credit Union branches, Mission Sports and at the first two games of the Rockets first round series with Tri-City Saturday and Sunday.
Rocket fans are encouraged to purchase the t-shirts and wear them to each home playoff game to create a 'Playoff Whiteout' inside Prospera Place.
Cost of the shirts are $5 with proceeds assisting the Kelowna Professional Fire Fighters Charitable Society.
The charitable society has given out approximately $30,000 in donations to many different causes including the KGH Foundation, Kelowna Gospel Mission, Canadian Cancer Society, YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, Kelowna Red Cross, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy and Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
The Charitable Society has also been able to commit $100,000 to the BCPFFA Burn Fund Building.
Meantime, the Rockets will be adding to the playoff atmosphere with a tailgate party outside Prospera Place prior to Saturday's playoff opener.
Fans are invited to stop by and enjoy a free hot dog, beverage and bag of Old Dutch chips for the first 1,000 fans.
There is lots of entertainment for the whole family, including a chance to win a set of four tires, compliments of Kal Tire.
There will be bouncy castles, face painters, an inflatable shooting radar game and tire hockey/shooting games. There will also be 500 mini sticks handed out.
