Okanagan Rockets move on to semis

The Okanagan Rockets are on their way to the BCMML semi-finals after a weekend sweep of the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds.

On Saturday, the Rockets left little doubt about their position as pre-series favourites with a 10 – 2 victory.  Okanagan took an early 2 – 0 lead but Fraser Valley put the pressure on, tying things up early in the second period.

That would be as far as Fraser Valley would get as the Rockets finished the 2nd period up 6 – 2.  They would add four more in the third period for the 10 - 2 win.

Tyson Jost and Liam Finlay did major damage to the T-Birds, with Jost scoring two goals and picking up two assists while Finlay added two goals and an assist.

This game followed a 7 – 0 shutout victory on Friday evening over Fraser Valley at Prospera Place.

Both Jost and Finlay had two goals and two assists each in the match-up.  The dynamic duo combined for eight goals and seven assists in the two game series.

The Rockets will host the Valley West Hawks in the BCMML semi-final series next Friday at 8PM at Capital News Centre.

Game two takes place Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. and if necessary game three on Sunday at 10 a.m.
