Rockets streak ends at 16

The Kelowna Rockets saw two streak come to an end Friday night in Vancouver.

The Vancouver Giants outworked and outplayed the Rockets for 60 minutes in a well deserved 4-2 victory.

The loss snaps the Rockets 16 game road winning streak and 16 game overall winning streak.

Jackson Houck scored three times including two in a span of 1:24 in the second period to lead the Giants to the victory.

Houck opened the scoring early in the first on the back end of a four minute power-play.

Ryan Olsen got that one back 15 minutes into the period.

After the teams exchanged goals early in the second Houck completed the hat-trick with goals at 5:38 and 7:02.

Neither team was able to score the rest of the way.

Justin Kirkland scored the other Rocket goal.

Jackson Whistle took the loss, just his third of the season and first since a 2-1 setback at the hands of the Calgary Hitmen Oct. 22.

The loss was the Rockets first on the road since a 6-3 setback in Spokane Oct. 8 and the first of any sort since a 4-1 loss to Victoria Nov. 20.

The Rockets (31-4-0-2) will try and bounce back Saturday when they host the same Vancouver Giants at Prospera Place.
