The Simon Fraser University Athletics programs’ success speaks for itself. As a six (6) time winner of the U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup for the top N.A.I.A. athletics program, SFU has placed many former and current student-athletes on Canadian National and Olympic teams. SFU is the only Canadian university represented in the U.S. National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). This allows for SFU to compete against US colleges and universities and is a huge drawing card for student-athlete recruitment.

The SFU Clan Men’s Soccer program is regarded as one of the finest soccer programs in Canada and traditionally ranks highly amongst other universities in the NAIA. SFU has 18 appearances in the NAIA U.S. National Championships, with 3 national championships titles and 10 final four results. Success has become a tradition for the SFU Soccer program, and it’s coaches and players are coming to Kelowna to share their success, knowledge and coaching skills with the youth players of the Central Okanagan, this Spring Break!

The SFU High Performance & Recreational Spring Break Soccer Camps are being held March 12-16 at the Capital News Centre Indoor Soccer Fields, for youth age 5 – 16. These camps will be indoor so weather is not a factor. Morning camps are for ages 5-11 and will focus on skill development and fun. Afternoon “High Performance” camp is for ages 12-16 and will give participants a taste of what it’s like to experience university level coaching and training camp drills and games.

This camp will finish with a prospects game on the last day for coaches to evaluate players during game situations. This is a great opportunity for future university soccer players to be seen and evaluated directly by the SFU coaching staff. This camp also doubles as a recruitment opportunity for the Men’s Soccer program to become familiar with local and potentially future SFU Clan Soccer players! Space is limited in these camps so register today.

For more information and to register for this or any other of the many camps, tournaments leagues and programs, contact Sport & Rec. at 469-8800 (Parkinson Rec. Centre)
