No water for 9 Summerland homes
Confusing media reports have Summerland residents concerned that the whole town will be without water tomorrow; that is not the case. Only nine homes will be affected.
Water service in the District of Summerland will be disrupted Saturday for only nine homes. The area is off of Phinney Ave. and Prairie Valley Rd. near Victoria. Ave.
The disruption is due to unexpected circumstances encountered on the Prairie Valley Creek Diversion project.
Water service will be disrupted from approximately 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, November 3.
Customers are advised to have an adequate supply of water on hand.
Ensure all automatic equipment using water (electrical or otherwise), is suitably protected for the shutdown.
Also, ensure your hot water tank is shut off and that it is adequately filled before it is reactivated.
The District of Summerland accepts no liability for damage resulting from interrupted service.
After the water service has been restored, please check for sediment before using. Running a cold water tap will clear the lines.
The District of Summerland apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause you and thanks you for your cooperation.
