Crews were called to the house on the 300 block of 2nd avenue around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday.
Fire Chief Jordy Bosscha says the flames were shooting out of the basement and the first floor when they arrived.
"The main floor of the house has collapsed into the basement and the upper floor is still standing, but there is no way to get to it."
Bosscha says it appears the fire started in the basement although an official cause is not known.
It does not appear anyone was home at the time of the fire.
The owners, who live in Alberta, have been notified.
The house is up for sale.
