Fire in Keremeos 50 per cent contained

The fire burning near Upper Bench Road in Keremeos is now 50 per cent contained.
Forestry crews mapped the area Friday morning and measured the wildfire at 16.5 hectares.
Fire information officer Michaela Swan says there has been no significant growth on the blaze overnight.
"The fire is a rank one or rank two on a scale from one to six, and is just smoldering with a little bit of open flame."
One helicopter and two pieces of heavy equipment are on scene along with 20 personnel.
