For the second time in as many days, a crash involving a motorcyclist closed a section of the Trans-Canada Highway in the Shuswap.
The latest crash happened early Thursday just east of Salmon Arm when a motorcycle collided with a pickup.
RCMP Cpl. Mike Halskov says the motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital in serious condition, while the driver of the pickup is unhurt.
A motorcyclist died Wednesday on Highway 1, between Sicamous and Revelstoke after colliding with a transport truck.
That stretch of the Trans-Canada was closed for several hours Wednesday, and Highway 1 east of Salmon Arm remains partially closed today.
The cause of both crashes remains under investigation.

Highway 1 is expected to reopen at 12:30 p.m., DriveBC reports.
UPDATE 9:15 a.m.
The westbound lanes have reopened, but the eastbound lanes remain closed, DriveBC reports.
A detour is available via Highway 97B and 97A.

DriveBC reports that a multi-vehicle crash has forced the closure of Highway 1 at Highway 97B in Salmon Arm.
They report no direct detour around the crash site.
The next update on the incident is expected at 9:30 a.m.
