Women who wine

Salmon Arm's Women Who Wine will be hosting their first community giving event later this month.

The event, which is open to the public, will be at Hapur Family Farm.

Each attendee is required to bring a $100 donation to add to the donation pool.

Three non-profit organizations – the Shuswap Hospice Society, Shuswap Children's Association and the Shuswap SPCA – will present, and the attendees will then vote on which charity should get the bulk of the money.

Every vote is private.

Each non-profit will speak about special community projects they are looking to fund.

The "winner" will take 80 per cent of the total donation pool, with each runner-up receiving 10 per cent.

Panzudo Food Trailer will be on hand whipping up delicious wood fire pizza for purchase and there will be a cash bar serving beer from Barley Station Brew Pub and wine from Sunnybrae Winery, among other refreshments.

The adult-only event will feature Patrick Riley who will be emceeing the event and a local banjo player will be providing music.

Each person attending will be entered to win a door prize.

Interested attendees please RSVP to [email protected] or call Kailee at 250.852.113. Tax receipts will be issued.

Harpur Family Farm is located at 6491 Okanagan Avenue NE, Salmon Arm.
