2 injured in head-on crash

A head-on collision near Chase sent two people to hospital early Thursday morning.

Cpl. Scott Linklater said on Feb. 1 at 4:50 a.m., Chase RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision in Lee Creek.

Police investigation determined the driver of a 2002 GMC pick-up truck was travelling north on Squilax-Anglemont Road and stopped to turn left onto Holding Road to allow oncoming traffic to pass. A southbound 2002 Acura RSX crossed over the centre line, and slammed into the GMC truck.

“The driver and lone occupant of the truck was uninjured. The occupants of the car, an adult male and adult female, were transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries,” said Linklater.

“The investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing and charges pursuant to the Motor Vehicle Act are expected.”

Traffic was disrupted for approximately two hours to accommodate the police investigation and for cleanup of the debris.
