Seatbelts save lives

Officials have been saying it for years, and RCMP in Salmon Arm can testify it is true: seatbelts save lives

Staff Sgt. Scott West said on Jan. 24, police and ambulance were called to a single-vehicle roll over in the 4500 Block of the Trans Canada.

West said a truck was travelling in the passing lane when it hit some slush and the driver lost control.

“The vehicle skidded into the ditch and rolled. The force of the impact crushed the roof as the truck landed on it,” said West.

“The driver, and sole occupant from Enderby, was wearing his seatbelt which saved him from very serious injuries. He escaped the truck with minor cuts and bruises.

“Seatbelts save lives, for your sake, please buckle up no matter how short the drive might be.”
