The South Okanagan Rehab Centre for Owls has had a busy week with a new patient coming in each day.

Unfortunately not all can be saved or make it to the clinic before they expire.

New patients this week included a Great-horned owl from Grand Forks that suffered from a broken hip plus internal injuries, and Saw-whet, Western Screech and Pygmy owls that all sustained head injuries after impacting windows or cars.

A Mature Bald eagle came from the Kooteneys and it is hoped that it will recover and be able to be sent back in a couple of weeks.

Today we received another Saw-Whet with an infected eye that it most likely sustained almost a month ago and is now being treated for the infection. We do our best to treat the birds and nature does the rest.

SORCO will be offering Bookmark Calendars for sale along with our newly revised book "A Whisper of Wings".

This is a unique series of Book Marks with photos of the raptors SORCO has cared for. Each book mark has a mini calendar printed on it for your convenience. They will be selling for $6.00 each plus tax.

Our first book signing dates will be Feb. 4 & 5 from noon to 4:pm at Coles Books Store in the Cherry Lane Shopping Centre in Penticton. Hope to meet you all there!

Sherri Klein - Founder and Office Manager for The South Okanagan Rehab Centre for Owls.
