This winter, the South Okanagan Rehab Centre for owls has seen an increase in the numbers of small raptors.
Most have been stunned or injured from hitting the windows of houses.
Most common species that have come in are Pygmy and Saw-Whet owls.
At present we also have two immature Goshawks. Both have minor wing injuries and we expect that both will make a full recovery after some R&R.
This month, SORCO's reprinting of the book "A Whisper of Wings" will be coming off the press and will be for sale through SORCO. It will be found on local book stands as well.
Our first book signing date is planned for Sunday Feb. 4 & Monday Feb. 5, from noon to 4 pm. You can find us in front of Coles books in the Cherrylane Shopping Centre in Penticton, BC.
More dates in Oliver and other communities will be posted as they become available.
Books will cost $20.00 each plus tax (add $5.00 shipping for mail outs ) with all proceeds going to support the South Okanagan Rehab Centre for Owls.
The Reprinting of this book was made possible thanks to a very generous grant from TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
