Now that I have your attention, may I introduce you to some great reading, namely, two groundbreaking books, now available in one volume by John and Stasi Eldredge: Wild at Heart and Captivating. The first is written for men and good for women to get a better understanding of what most men are seeking to achieve in life and why. The second is written for women and good for men to get a better understanding of why women are who they are.

Those are my impressions. The back cover describes the books so much more eloquently, as follows (in part):

“Every man was once a boy. And every little boy has dreams, big dreams: dreams of being the hero, of beating the bad guys, of doing daring feats and rescuing the damsel in distress. ...

In Wild at Heart, John Eldredge invites men to recover their masculine heart, defined in the image of a passionate God. And he invites women to discover and rest in the strength men were created to offer.

Every woman was once a little girl. And every little girl holds in her heart her most precious dreams. She longs to be swept up into a romance, to play an irreplaceable role in a great adventure, to be the Beauty of the story.

And yet – how many women do you know who ever find that life? As the years pass by, the heat of a woman gets pushed aside. ...

In Captivating, John and Stasi Eldredge invite women to believe that their heart matters more than anything else in all creation. A woman’s desires and longings are telling her of the life God created her to live. He offers to come as the hero of her story, to rescue her heart and release her to live as a fully alive and feminine woman.”

To give you a bit of the flavour of the books, here are the chapter titles: “Wild at Heart; the Wild One Whose Image We Bear; The Question That Haunts Every Man; The Wound; The Battle for a Man’s Heart; The Father’s Voice; Healing the Wound; A Battle to Fight: The Enemy; A Battle to Fight: The Strategy; A Beauty to Rescue; An Adventure to Live; Writing the Next Chapter.”

Captivating: “The Heart of a Woman; What Eve Alone Can Tell; Haunted by a Question; Wounded; A Special Hatred; Healing the Wound; Romanced; Beauty to Unveil; Arousing Adam; Mothers, Daughters, Sisters; Warrior Princess; An Irreplaceable Role.”

Guaranteed to give you a new perspective and hopefully inspire you to be everything you are called to be, as you better understand your and the opposite gender’s soul. Reading these books has made a positive difference in my life and in Pat’s life, and in our relationship, even after being happily married for almost twenty years.

Get to know his and her soul, what is in the heart;
It will bring inspiring vision, give a fresh new start.

Have difficulty with any of this? Then reach out to someone you believe can help, maybe a trusted friend or a competent counsellor. Some pretty awesome things, even miracles, have been experienced throughout history because men and women have chosen to find their soul, their heart, their passion, and to pursue it. In so doing they live the life they were called to and for which they were created. They gain a whole new perspective, have peace and are grounded. As a result, they and others enjoy themselves and life more, the world is a better place, and heaven is the richer. The Creator has given each of us everything we need to consistently be living a life filled with meaning and fulfillment. Believing is a beginning and key to living a life of freedom and uplifting power on a daily basis – check it out and experience these truths for yourself.
