What should happen to Bertuzzi?

Vancouver police and the NHL are investigating the violent attack by Vancouver Canucks forward Todd Bertuzzi on Colorado Avalanche rookie Steve Moore that put him in hospital with a neck fracture and a concussion. Moore will remain in hospital in Vancouver for an indefinite period.

Colorado players say that the attack was premeditated. A bodycheck by Moore left Vancouver captain Markus Naslund with a concussion in a game between the teams three weeks ago.

Four years ago Marty McSorley on the Los Angeles Kings, received a 23-game suspension for slashing Cancuck’s forward Donald Brashear across the neck. He also received an 18-month conditional sentence in a Vancouver courtroom. McSorley did not play another game in the NHL.

The NHL has suspended Bertuzzi indefinitely. A league discipline hearing today will decide Bertuzzi’s future.
