RCMP in West Kelowna have taken possession of a Suzuki motorcycle after it was clocked doing about two-and-a-half times the posted speed limit on the Okanagan Connector.
Merritt RCMP clocked the bike zooming through its jurisdiction at 263km/h, as it was heading toward the Okanagan, last Friday afternoon.
For safety reasons, Merritt RCMP did not engage in a pursuit.
They instead contacted RCMP members in West Kelowna to be on the lookout for the bike.
The unidentified rider was eventually pulled over in West Kelowna.
The motorcycle has been impounded for a minimum of seven days and the driver was served a $483 ticket for excessive speeding.
