Critics and supporters are lining up to praise NDP House Leader Joy MacPhail, as she brings her political career to a close.
Her 14 years in the legislature came to an end Thursday afternoon, when the Campbell government closed down debate on its budget.
MacPhail was first elected to the legislature in 1991, when the NDP defeated the incumbent Social Credit government. She served in various ministries including finance, heath and education – also serving as deputy premier.
