Transportation Minister Kevin Falcon is in Kelowna this week to talk about the potential of building a second bridge.
He took a helicopter tour of the area Tuesday morning to have a look at where a second crossing might go. One area the city is looking at is right beside Riverside Forest Products mill in Kelowna's north end.
But Falcon says a second crossing is a long way down the road. "Putting a second bridge there would be a substantial investment especially in terms of land purchases. It's not something we can look at right now."
Falcon says plans to build the Okanagan Lake floating bridge are going ahead as planned and adds that he won't be making any funding announcements during his visit.
