Poll: Support Safe Streets Act?

The Campbell government has outlined its controversial Safe Streets legislation.

It's broken down into two sections: The Safe Streets Act and the Trespass Act.

Key components of the Safe Streets Act include:

Making it illegal to solicit anyone in an aggressive manner, either verbally or physically.
Prohibiting solicitation of a person in a vehicle while they are stopped at a traffic light or stop sign.
Prohibiting solicitation of a captive audience whether at pay phones, automated banking machines, public toilets, or transit stops.

Key components of the Trespass Act amendments include:

Prohibiting someone remaining on private property after they have been Asked to leave.
Allowing prohibition of specified activities on premises to be given orally or in writing - for example, a mall owner or security guard could prohibit skateboarding.
