This is the first election that the media will be able to report on the election results before all the polls have closed across the country.
A court ruling earlier this month allows media outlets across the country to report results as soon as they are known.
Candidates, of course, are not allowed to advertise on election day.
Castanet will be filing a number of reports throughout this evening on the results of the local races, and overall election outcome. Check out our election 2004 page for more information.
The polls in BC close at 7 pm tonight. The first polls in Canada close at 4:00 pm PST. Many of the national TV networks will begin their election coverage as early as 3:30 pm PST.
