Premier John Horgan has announced the opening of 10 urgent primary care centres across B.C. over the next year, starting with the first in Surrey this fall.
Others have yet to be announced, although Health Minister Adrain Dix is scheduled to make an unknown announcement in Kamloops on Friday.
Horgan says the facilities will be staffed with health-care providers including doctors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners and dietitians.
Such a centre has long been sought in West Kelowna. Should the Central Okanagan receive one of the centres?
