Buying a home is now tougher for many Okanagan residents, thanks to new federal mortgage regulations that went into effect on Jan. 1.
Tracy Head, a Kelowna mortgage consultant, says the stricter "stress test" rules will help protect people from taking on payments they potentially can’t afford, but will also have some “unintended consequences.”
