Kelowna's mayor thinks citizens will accept a provisional budget with a tax increase pegged at 4.12 per cent.
City council approved the spending of more than $120.5 million in tax dollars during Thursday's budget deliberations.
Colin Basran said in his four-plus years on council he has never heard anyone tell him they want services cut.
"Every time I'm on the radio, every time I'm hearing a complaint from a resident, every time I'm in a discussion with a resident about anything, it's 'we want more, we want better'. That doesn't come without a cost," said Basran.
