A three-year-old girl and her dog are doing OK today after a terrifying accident Sunday.
On June 21 at 3:08 p.m., Kelowna RCMP received a report of a child struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Bernard Avenue and Richmond Street.
“An eastbound car was travelling slowly on Bernard Avenue when it struck the pedestrians proceeding north in an illuminated crosswalk,” says Cpl. Joe Duncan. “A family was entering the crosswalk with the father pushing the three-year-old child in a stroller. The car clipped the stroller and dragged it for a distance.”
The 87-year-old driver of the vehicle was issued several Motor Vehicle Act tickets, including failure to yield to a pedestrian and driving without due care and attention. The man also faces a review of his driver’s licence.
