Is It A Veiled Threat?

An Okanagan representative for the HEU is reiterating that striking health care workers will not return to work if the government orders them to.

BC's Deputy Minister of Labour met with both sides in the dispute last night and will be reporting back to his boss today on whether there's any hope of negotiating an agreement.

Labour Minister Graham Bruce might introduce back to work legislation if he sees no hope in ending the dispute.

The HEU's Denis Nogue says workers on the picket lines are adamant they won't obey any back to work legislation.

"What the members are telling us is that as long as this concession package remains as it is, as well the layoffs continuing to happen daily, our members will not be bullied into returning to work."
