Should lost skiers pay for S&R?

In a letter to the editor James Fenton says it's time to make skiers who get lost our of bounds pay for their rescue what do you think? Take our poll.

Here is Fenton's letter:

I am so sick and tired of my tax dollars going to pay for search and rescue missions when it is for "stupid, selfish and ignorant" people, they should have to pay the full cost of these rescues.

We keep paying and these people who don't seem to care about the danger they put the search and rescue personnel in, they only think if the themselves.

Please bring forward a law that the skiers and snowboarders who go out of a clearly marked "out of bounds" area must pay for the whole cost of their rescue and in addition should be banned from the ski hill for five years, maybe then these people will get the message.

Than you and have a great New Year

James Fenton
