School District 67 has been selected to participate in the Schools on Board Arctic Field Program.

The program brings participants from across Canada together to work with Arctic scientists on board the CCGS Amundsen as it travels through the Northwest Passage.

Jennifer Wingham, vice principal at KVR Middle School, is expected to provide an overview at tonight's, Monday, school board meeting.

In other board meeting highlights, vice principal Sandra Richardson will be joined by a few students who traveled to Tanzania at spring break. They will share their experiences and discuss the highlights of the trip.

The board will recognize the Raise a Reader and Penticton Indian Band Grandma's programs.

Three grandmas, who have made a big difference at district schools, will be recognized.

There will be discussion on correspondence received from the South Okanagan Victim Assistance Society and a group of parents regarding family life curriculum.

SOVAS is concerned that the district no longer has a funded position to dedicate towards the  curriculum.

A review of the financial report and discussion on the district achievement contract is also slated to take place.
