Jump for joy at Apex
Aspiring Olympic mogul skiers from across the country will convene at Apex Mountain Resort this week for the Canadian Selection Event.
This is the third year the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association has held the talent identification camp and competitions for its National C Team and provincial-level mogul athletes. The Canadian Selections is being hosted by the BC Freestyle & Apex Freestyle.
This is the first competition of the season for these athletes who have already had more than 30 plus days on snow leading up to this event and most of these training days have taken place at the World Class Freestyle training facilities at Apex Mountain.
More than 70 athletes, ranging in age from 13 to 23 plus years, from clubs, provincial teams and the National C Team will have the opportunity to showcase their talent with the potential opportunity to represent Canada as early as the 2014 Olympics in Russia.
With two days of competition, on Dec. 15 and 16, each participant will have a minimum of four competition runs to impress CFSA coaches, evaluators, and judges.
Canada delivered the first Olympic Gold Medal on Canadian soil in 2010 in mogul skiing with the outstanding performances by Alex Bilodeau and the Silver medal by Jenn Heil. Come out and support these young athletes as Canadian Freestyle strives to retain the dominance in this sport!
This is your opportunity to view some of Canada’s rising stars right here in our own backyard for free on Dec. 15 and 16.
For more information please contact Wade Garrod at BC Freestyle at (250) 550-5322, or Ronda Barzilay at BC Freestyle, (250) 878-4272.
