Arrest made in armed robbery
An unidentified 46-year-old woman was in police custody briefly following an armed robbery at a Subway Restaurant in Penticton.
According to police, the woman, wearing a mask, entered the Subway Restaurant on Martin Avenue about 7 a.m. Thursday morning.
She was brandishing a knife and demanded cash.
The woman fled with a small amount of cash.
RCMP Sgt. Rick Dellebuur says later in the day, police were alerted to another disturbance involving a female who was acting unusual.
"Investigators were able to determine the female involved in the disturbance was the same female involved in the Subway robbery," says Dellebuur.
The woman, with no ties to the city, was arrested and later released to appear in Penticton court in January of next year.
