The Penticton RCMP detachment now has the ability to submit fingerprint searches online to Ottawa for civil purposes including applications by volunteers wanting to work in sensitive areas.

This new system will generate an immediate response for the applicant.

In the past, manually submitted searches could take up to eight weeks for a response to be returned, and now the results can sent back within five minutes.

The service is available to anyone wishing to travel to Penticton to have their fingerprints submitted electronically.
