Hotel night clerk robbed at knifepoint

Penticton RCMP are looking for a man who used a knife to rob a hotel night clerk.

The robbery occurred about 2 a.m. Tuesday at the Coast Hotel on Westminster Avenue.

Police say the 65-year-old night clerk contact them stating he had just been robbed and the suspect had fled the hotel.

The suspect apparently entered the hotel through the front door carrying a knife in his hand and demanded cash.

He fled with a cash box containing a small amount of cash.

Police arrived on scene but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect was last seen wearing all dark blue clothing with a hood covering his face.

Anyone with information on the robbery or the suspect are asked to contact Penticton RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
