Convicted sex offender Donald Michel Bakker has been arrested after he was unable to find approved accommodation.
Bakker turned himself in to the Penticton detachment on July 11, however Crown did not want to approve charges for the breach and he was released.
Several days later, on July 13, Bakker was once again unable to find a place to sleep and breached his release conditions.
Sgt. Rick Dellebuur says after the second breach Bakker was remanded into custody and appeared in a Penticton Provincial Court on Monday, July 16.
"He was remanded to Vancouver court and will remain in custody until July 20, when he is again to appear in court. During this time they will be looking for approved accommodations for him."
After Bakker was released on May 31, from Mountain Institute in Agassiz, he moved to Penticton where he was to reside with his parents. Dellebuur says he was forced to leave his parent's home on June 19, and efforts by Community Corrections to find a suitable long term residence in the city had been unsuccessful.
In 2005, Bakker, was convicted for an array of sex crimes including sexual assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm and invitation to sexual touching after videotaping assaults on young girls between the ages of seven and 12 in Cambodia.
He was also convicted of attacking three Vancouver women in the sex trade, sadistically abusing them and videotaping the assaults.
Two of Bakker's conditions include having an approved residence and to obey a curfew.
