Wet bridge blamed for crash

by - Story: 56752

Four people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after a collision on a bridge Monday night.

The two vehicles collided on the Whipsaw Creek Bridge just outside of Princeton around 6:15 p.m. Monday.

Sergeant Dave Clare says the driver of the east bound vehicle crossed the center line after the vehicle slipped on the wet road.

“It is believed road conditions were the main factor in this crash as the bridge was wet at the time,” says Clare.

He says neither driver was speeding.

“There were no life threatening injuries. One of the drivers had a concussion, a broken ankle and hand injuries. They were all taken to Princeton General Hospital but a couple of them were transferred to Penticton.”

Clare says the road was closed for about an hour and the Jaws of Life were used to extract one of the drivers.
