A jam packed South Okanagan Events Centre had their opportunity to get a glimpse of Lord Stanley's Mug.

Penticton's Duncan Keith brought the Cup, along with his Norris Trophy and Olympic Gold Medal to the Peach City Saturday.

Keith was joined on stage with his family, close friends and dignitaries.

All had their turn to speak and some shared stories about the Chicago Blackhawks D-man.

There were also video tributes for Keith on the jumbotron.

Keith says this so-called fame is all new to him.

"I don't know if you get used to it. I mean, you may be used to taking some pictures with the cup, that is a cool feeling. That's never going to get old," says Keith.

Keith's fiancée Kelly-Rae Kenyon says off the ice, he's a very down to earth person.

"He's very grounded, a very humble person. His feet are still stuck in the ground, which is nice. It's probably pretty hard for someone with that many accomplishments. He's very focus driven -- I can't get him to do anything that has nothing to do with hockey. It's really difficult to get him focused outside of hockey. He's a great guy."

Keith visited Penticton Regional Hospital earlier Saturday and says it meant a lot to him.

"Anybody who has ever been in the hospital or had someone in the hospital knows it can be tough, especially for the people in the hospital who are going through whatever it is they are going through. Just to bring the Stanley Cup there and have it come by them for a minute or two, take a picture and talk to them -- it can brighten up their day and make a big difference sometimes. If it is going to make a difference, I am all for it."

Keith also made a 10-thousand dollar donation to Penticton Regional Hospital.

Mayor Dan Ashton also awarded Keith the 'Key to the City.'
