Water off in parts of Summerland

Parts of Summerland are without water as a municipal crew works to repair the main water transmission line.

The water was turned off Saturday at 9 p.m. and will remain off until Sunday at 11 a.m.

Customers on and north of the following locations will experience little or no water pressure during the outage:
  • Prairie Valley Road, south of Morrow Road to Highway 97 and Solly Road
  • Peach Orchard Road
  • Lakeshore Drive
  • Crescent Beach
  • Giants Head Road to Hilborn Street and the Front Bench Road area east to Highway 97 and south, including Happy Valley and Gartell roads.

Customers are advised to protect automatic equipment, electrical and otherwise, for the duration of the disruption, and to ensure that hot water tanks are filled before being reactivated.

Running a cold water tap for a period of time after the water service has been restored will remove any sediment from lines, according to the district.
