Penticton isn’t Hockeyville 2009.

The Peach City was defeated in its attempt to take the title in the CBC contest to find the country’s most hockey-spirited community.

Those still in the running include Terrace, Harbour Grace, Nfld. and Woolwich Township, Ontario.

The winning community will receive $100,000 in rink upgrades and will host an NHL preseason game.

Final voting takes place February 28 until March 4 with the winner being announced on Hockey Night in Canada on March 7.
